After the Max Fried arbitration news on Saturday, it was a pretty quiet weekend for the Atlanta Braves. One note, and its a bittersweet one, is that Hank Aaron's birthday was on Sunday as he was born on February 5th, 1934 in Mobile, Alabama. Given our choice of rebranding recently, it is safe to say that we really miss Hank each and every day. If you get the chance and are able, donating to the Henry Louis Aaron Fund is a great way to honor his memory and legacy.

Elsewhere on the site, we looked ahead a bit to the Atlanta Braves schedule in April. The schedule on paper is a mixed bag with some (hopefully) easy series as well as some against some very strong opposition. The back to back series against the San Diego Padres followed by the Houston Astros loom particularly large in the middle of the month as does the Mets series at the end of April.

Speaking of the Mets, they made a bit of news with a front office hire that you may have heard of. Carlos Beltran, who was going to be the Mets' manager before the Astros' sign stealing scandal broke where he was a prime focus, is leaving his broadcast job with the YES Network to be a special assistant in the Mets' front office. Beltran has some image rehabilitation is needs to do especially if he wants to change some minds and end up getting voted into the Hall of Fame.
It also looks like the Giants are trying to extend one of their better young players. Logan Webb has been very impressive during the early part of his career and it looks like the Giants would like to keep him around for a while as the two sides have been engaging in talks on a contract extension. Webb becomes a free agent after the 2025 season, so the sides have some time to figure things out if need be.
