One moment Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker was taking in a beautiful night of baseball, the next moment he was gasping for breath.

In the 5th inning of Wednesday's game against the Giants, the Braves were looking to give Chris Sale the run support they neglected to give him last week in Chicago. They had already scored one run early, but it was still 1-0 when Ozzie Albies came to the plate with one out.

Then on the first pitch of the at bat, Brian Snitker was suddenly regretting where he was standing.

All we can say is, "ouch."

At first glance, the Braves broadcasting crew thought the foul ball had hit him in the stomach. However, Bally Sports quickly went to review, where Brandon Gaudin and C. J. Nitkowski reacted in real time when they realized it was a "different kind of belly."

Their response was likely similar to Braves fans at home.

Thankfully, the Braves skipper quickly recovered, although not before receiving some friendly jabs and laughs from some of his players. Have you ever seen Max Fried this amused?

This play left some fans suggesting MLB implement new rules to protect MLB managers from this peril. Others peered into the crystal ball and saw that this moment will actually be a turning point in the season.

This prediction might actually have been proven right. Although Albies soon made the second out of the inning, Marcell Ozuna would draw a walk and Matt Olson would hit a single, bringing Austin Riley to the plate.

Even with the two outs, Riley did not disappoint, hitting a hard liner off of the Chophouse to bring in two runs and extend the lead to 3-0.

Maybe all the Braves offense needed to get going was a little bit of pain at the expense of their manager.
