The Seattle Mariners pitching has been as advertised in this series, and helped them win two close low-scoring games against the Braves. Last night it was Luis Castillo who gave the Braves offense fits, as Settle won their second consecutive one-run game by a 3-2 final score.
Atlanta hopes to bounce back and salvage the series finale as they send veteran Chris Sale to the mound. It's been an uncharacteristic offensive slump for Atlanta, but hopefully some of the big bats are close to breaking out on a warmer day.
Let's check out the starting lineups and pitchers for tonight's game.
Probable starting pitchers
Chris Sale (3-1, 3.69 ERA) takes the bump hoping to keep Atlanta from being swept by the M's. Sale has been amazing thus far, especially when you look at his numbers after the first inning. If he can find a way to stop giving up leadoff homers, Sale would be considered one of the brightest developments in Atlanta this season.
Emerson Hancock (3-2, 5.06 ERA) was the sixth overall pick in the 2020 draft out of the University of Georgia. Hancock will square off against his hometown team hoping to complete the sweep for Seattle. His batted ball profile isn't the most exciting for M's fans, but with their recent excellent run in pitching, the Braves bats will have a lot of work to do.
