Atlanta Braves probable pitchers and starting lineups vs. New York Yankees, June 23

The Atlanta Braves' offense has awaken over the past week of baseball. Despite being slowed down by Marcus Stroman and company last night, the Braves have a chance to leave the Bronx with a series victory if they can take this afternoon's rubber match behind Max Fried.

It will be most of the regulars for the Braves this afternoon, but the Yankees had to do a bit of roster shuffling as they transferred Giancarlo Staton to the injured list. Hopefully, the lefty masher Braves are out again as they will square off against a crafty Yankees pitcher to say the least.

Probable starting pitchers for Braves vs. Yankees

Max Fried (6-3, 3.11 ERA) has certainly had hitters "all mixed up" this season as he enters with the 12th best ERA in the National League. Oddly enough, Fried will be making his fourth consecutive start versus an American League team. In his career, Max owns a 11-3 record, 2.32 ERA, and 113 strikeouts in his career against AL teams. Hopefully, this afternoon is more Max Fried magic.

Nestor Cortes (4-5, 3.36 ERA) is known across baseball as the funky lefty who utilizes different deliveries in order to keep hitters off balance. He does a great job at limiting walks, and throwing the kitchen sink at hitters. Cortes is coming off of an excellent performance against the high-powered Orioles, in which he went six shutout innings in a Yankees victory. Hopefully, the lefty mashers like Ozuna, Albies, Riley, and Duvall can get one of those hittable fastballs and keep the series slugfest going.
