The Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins couldn't have more polar opposite starts to the 2024 season. Atlanta is chugging right along to a National League best 16-6 record, meanwhile the Marlins are in the basement of the NL East with a 6-19 record.

The Braves picked up a game two victory last night behind a complete game shutout from Max Fried, and today they'll turn to the man who has been the most impressive in the rotation thus far in 2024.

Let's check out the starting lineups and pitchers for tonight's game.

Probable starting pitchers

Reynaldo Lopez (2-0, 0.50 ERA) has been a lovely bright spot in the Braves rotation in 2024. His 2.08 xERA is fourth among all starting pitchers in baseball. He's gone six innings in each of his first three starts, and he'll look to duplicate that against Miami's slow-start offense.

Sixto Sanchez (0-1, 6.14 ERA) has finally returned to a Major League mound after battling injuries the last three seasons. Some fans may remember that it was Sixto who pitched game three of the 2020 NLDS against the Braves, a game that sent Atlanta to their first NLCS in nearly two decades.

Sixto doesn't possess the big fastball that once made him a high-end prospect. Instead, he has been primarily slider and changeup dominant in 2024. He throws each over 34% of the time, so look for guys like Ronald Acuña Jr. to feast on Sixto's off speed offerings.
