The Atlanta Braves had a shocking end to their series with the New York Mets. However, they have to turn the page from that and focus their attention on the Miami Marlins. Atlanta sits at 7-4 on the season and is currently first place in the NL East.

Spencer Strider is likely lost for the season. Although, we don't know for sure because there hasn't been an announcement yet. Atlanta will have to rely on their pitching depth at the minor league level to fill that rotation spot for now.

The Braves hope to get themselves back into the win column against a Marlins team that is struggling mightily to win games. They are 2-11 on the season so far but you can never count them out of the game as they always play up when the Braves come to town. Max Fried, Chris Sale, and Charlie Morton will hope to keep their bats silent.

Let's check out today's starting pitchers and lineups.

Probable starting pitchers

Max Fried (0-0, 18.00 ERA) gets the start for the Braves and he'll hope to do much better in this start than he has in the first two of the season. It's been a tad concerning to see Max struggle so much. He had a long first inning against the Mets but eventually settled in.

Surely, his goal will be to have an easy first inning and try to give Atlanta five or more innings so the bullpen isn't needed so early on. Fried has a career ERA of 4.94 against the Marlins through 58.1 innings with 17 walks and 61 strikeouts.

Trevor Rogers (0-1, 5.40 ERA) will take the mound for Miami and he's not had a great start to the year as his ERA indicates. He walks people at a high rate as he already has seven through 10 innings pitched. He's faced the Braves before and carries a 6.03 ERA through 31.1 innings against them. If the Atlanta offense can remain patient at the plate, they will likely continue to have success against the Marlins southpaw.
