The Braves exit a tightly contested, pitching-dominated series with the Mariners to finish up their West Coast trip in LA. Atlanta last played on Wednesday afternoon in a 5-2 victory over Seattle. The team got a much-needed off day on Thursday and now will square off against one of their biggest competitors in the National League.

Both the Braves (20-9) and the Dodgers (20-13) lead their respective divisions as we enter early May. This figures to be the electric series that it always is, with star power all over the diamond.

Let's check out the starting lineups and pitchers for tonight's game.

Probable starting pitchers

Charlie Morton (2-0, 3.60 ERA) takes the ball for Atlanta hoping to continue the run of excellent starting pitching recently. However, Morton's career numbers against the Dodgers aren't too exciting as he owns a 1-4 record with a 5.70 ERA in seven career appearances against them. Hopefully, Uncle Charlie can turn those career numbers around and keep Mookie Betts and company from doing damage.

Gavin Stone (2-1, 4.68 ERA) is a fifth-round draft pick from the 2020 class. He is primarily a sinker/changeup pitcher who averages 95 mph with his fastball. His four-seam fastball currently has a -3 run value according to Baseball Savant, so hopefully he's just the guy Ronald needs to see in order to turn around his luck against the heater.
