Although the Braves boast the best record in the NL, their opponent this weekend is a surprise team from the American League that has matched the Braves success in 2024.

The Cleveland Guardians are off to a 18-7 start behind first-time manager, and member of the 2021 Braves World Series team, Stephen Vogt. Cleveland's +49 run differential leads all teams in MLB. The Braves follow them with a +44 run differential. It should make for a great series down in Atlanta this weekend.

Probable starting pitchers

Chris Sale (2-1, 4.38 ERA) has been electric in each of his four starts in a Braves uniform. If he can cut out the first-inning lead-off homers he will see that ERA trend toward a better direction. Sale's great movement and velocity have shown he still has plenty left in the tank. And his 2.93 xFIP suggests he is on his way to some more pleasant results.

Logan Allen (3-0, 5.06 ERA) takes the bump for the Guardians in a rematch between the franchises that competed for the 1995 World Series title. Cleveland has been able to churn out numerous impressive young pitchers over the years, and Allen is hoping to become one of the latest. His 2024 is off to a less than stellar start, and his limited swing and miss stuff gives cause for concern against the Braves. Let's hope the Braves do their usual business against LHP and get to Allen early and often in this matchup.
