What will Ozzie Albies do?

Of course, the team has to consider Albies' position on switch-hitting. The 26-year-old told the media after Monday's game against Texas that he loves switch-hitting and has no intention of giving it up.

It's important to remember that just because Ozzie has mashed left-handed pitching doesn't necessarily mean he'd mash righties as a right-handed batter. Interestingly, the players with the most success once they stopped switch-hitting were left-handed-dominant batters. While Victorino was much better as a righty against righties in his first season not switch-hitting, he eventually regressed to be exactly even against righties no matter which side he was batting from.

While Albies has hit righty against right-handed pitchers nine times (or 13 times, according to Baseball Savant) in his career and has been very successful (340 wRC+), seven of those PAs have come against position players.

If Albies ever did stop hitting left-handed, he would likely be a better overall hitter, but it's highly likely that he would not be the 148 wRC+ hitter he has been against lefties.

And of course, just to be clear, Ozzie Albies should never hit lefty against a lefty again.
