Happy Opening Day! After months of waiting, the Atlanta Braves are ready to kick of the 2023 season this afternoon in Washington. After announcing the Opening Day roster earlier this morning, the Braves have rolled out their lineup to face Patrick Corbin as they begin their defense of the NL East division.

We knew Max would get the call on the mound, making his third consecutive opening day start as the Braves look to win their first opening day game since Nick Markakis walked us off back in 2018. The big lefty will look to get his CY Young campaign under way in style against what shouldn't be a particularly daunting Nationals lineup.

The Braves will open with three right handed hitters against the lefty Corbin, and one would expect baring injuries the Braves will have Acuna, Olson, and Riley in the 1-3 slots each day. The switch-hitting Ozzie Albies gets first crack at the cleanup spot followed by new addition Sean Murphy. Ozuna gets the call against Corbin which is obvious, but what might not have been obvious is that he's getting a shot in left field to start the season, Braves nation collectively holds their breathe. Harris gets pushed down to the 7th spot in the order against a left hander, and it will be interesting to see if Snit sticks to that configuration as the season goes on. Rounding out the order, D'Arnaud will bat in the eight spot as today's designated hitter and the newly paid Orlando Arcia will bat ninth.

All in all, not a terribly surprising lineup and one that can do damage from top to bottom. Here's hoping they get it started today!
