The Atlanta Braves finished a third-straight win against the Dodgers on Saturday in dramatic fashion. Bryce Elder had another phenomenal outing, holding the second-best team in the NL to just one earned run over six innings.
The performance highlighted an interesting fact that you may not have guessed. The Braves have the best pitching staff in the National League. As much as we have worried about the depth of the staff this season, we have less than a month left to go and yet here we are, the best ERA in the NL.
Kyle Wright won 21 games last season and Max Fried finished second in Cy Young voting. The duo has been limited to just 16 total starts. Despite being able to rely on Spencer Strider, Charlie Morton, and Bryce Elder, the Braves have used 16 different starting pitchers this season. They have had a revolving door behind the top three, making things feel a little more unstable than reality.
