The Atlanta Braves have been busy over the last few days making additions for the 2026 season. It's great to see them active this early in the offseason. Fans are going to need to see a good amount of spending this offseason to feel great about the team's chances.
There are a few updates that could impact their decisions going forward. Let's take a look at a couple of those noteworthy items below.
Braves News: Joe Jimenez's timeline remains unclear after another knee procedure
The Braves announced Joe Jimenez underwent another cleanup surgery on his left knee. This is the same knee he had surgery on to repair cartilage damage. He missed the entire 2025 season as a result, but there was hope that he would return at the start of 2026.
#Braves Alex Anthopoulos reiterated that RHP Joe Jiménez had another procedure to clean up his left knee. They won't have a clear status for him until just before Spring Training.

Alex Anthopoulos stated the team won't know how long he will miss until late December at the earliest. This highlights the importance of the Braves building pitching depth this offseason. Jimenez was supposed to be a big part of the bullpen, but in the final year of his contract, it remains to be seen if he will be available.
Braves News: Atlanta encouraged by Grant Holmes' rehab on injured elbow
Atlanta has a few pitchers working their way back from injury, and a couple of them have a ways to go. Grant Holmes seems to be doing well in his rehab from a partial UCL tear last season. The Braves recently announced they are "really encouraged" by his recovery so far.
It has gone better than they hoped so far. Braves insider David O'Brien stated the obvious, which is that we "won't know for sure until he ramps things up at spring training". However, it is very good to hear things are going in the right direction so far.
Braves News: Atlanta to oppose Brewers in 2026 Little League Classic
The Braves will feature in the 2026 MLB Little League Classic next season against the Brewers. This game takes place every year in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, and will be held on August 23, 2026. Fans will be able to watch this game exclusively on ESPN.
It's a really cool event where MLB players will attend Little League World Series games earlier in the day. Later that night, the little leaguers, along with their families, will attend the MLB game. Milwaukee will be the home team during this special event.
