No one denies that the Atlanta Braves' TV situation is a mess. While it was initially kind of exciting to see the Braves opt to launch their own network, BravesVision, the realities of implementing that plan in a short window of time and locking in distribution deals have made it more confusing than ever to figure out exactly how to watch Braves baseball games.
Unfortunately, uncertainty remains as to how this is exactly going to play out as the Braves look to finalize distribution agreements and build their new network the way they want to. Numerous changes are coming, and parsing the exact best options for how to watch the Braves this season requires a little bit of research and patience. Luckily, we have you covered for a good chunk of it.
How to watch the Braves on Opening Day 2026
The most pressing TV situation is Opening Day when the Braves take on the Royals on Friday, March 27, at 7:15 PM EST. Atlanta obviously knew that getting their distribution ironed out before Opening Day could be a challenge, so they turned to a familiar TV partner in Gray Media. If you are looking to watch the first Braves game of the 2026 season, it will be simulcast on Gray Media affiliates throughout the southeast.
You will have to consult their website for specific channels in your area that will carry the game, but it is very easy to navigate. For example, if you are in the metro Atlanta area, you will want to check if your cable package has Atlanta News First (WANF). Otherwise, you may have to pivot to BravesVision's direct-to-consumer streaming, which is surprisingly not terribly priced.
How to watch the Braves in 2026 with cable
So this is where things get a little hazy. We know that the Braves have an agreement in place with Gray Media on the same stations above for Opening Day to broadcast a limited slate of games this season. We also know that the Braves will have some nationally-televised games, so you will want to make sure you know what channels to turn to for NBC/Peacock (Sundays), TBS (Tuesdays), Fox (Saturdays), and ESPN (some weeknights) in the event of a national broadcast. Spectrum customers will also be happy to know that BravesVision will be carried to Spectrum customers starting on Opening Day. If you are in-market, that should have you covered.
If you are NOT in the Braves' market, it is admittedly trickier. The advice for national games remains the same. However, if you are dead set on avoiding streaming options, your best bet for an out-of-market option is to go with MLB TV's Extra Innings package.
Beyond that, there is still a lot left unsettled as to when or even if other cable carriers will carry BravesVision. For you Charter and Comcast customers, sit tight if you don't want to purchase a standalone Braves option right away.
How to stream Braves games in 2026
Streaming options are quickly becoming the most straightforward way to watch Braves games these days. Starting with the nationally-televised games, you will want a Peacock, ESPN, and Apple TV (for Friday Night Baseball) if you don't want to miss those games. Alternatively, you can get a more all-inclusive streaming platform like fuboTV or DirecTV Stream to cover most national games, although that won't help you watch Apple or Netflix exclusives.
As for the bulk of Braves games that will be on BravesVision, your current best bet is to just use their current direct-to-consumer streaming option. There is no guarantee whatsoever that BravesVision will be on fuboTV or a similar service at the moment. As a result, those who prioritize streaming their baseball will want to fork over $20 a month for Braves.TV until Atlanta's TV situation is more settled.
