Since MLB began awarding the Silver Slugger to the best hitters at each position back in 1980, Atlanta Braves hitters have been prolific when it comes to winning the award. With over 40 winners, the Braves are among the top-three in MLB when it comes to winning the award over the years.

Braves fans likely already sensed their favorite team usually takes home plenty of Silver Sluggers, but they might be surprised which Braves players have won the award the most.

Here are the Braves franchise leaders in Silver Sluggers

The three-timers (Freddie Freeman and Ronald Acuña Jr.)

The Braves top hitters since 2010 by OPS+ are Freddie Freeman and Ronald Acuña Jr, so it's unsprising that the two would have multiple Silver Sluggers.

In Freeman's 12 seasons with the Braves, the first baseman took home three Silver Slugger awards (which, surprisingly, are his only three to date). Freeman won his three awards in his final three seasons with the Braves, which he also won his MVP and his first World Series.

Acuña Jr. won his three Silver Sluggers in 2019, 2020, and 2023, which were the three primarily healthy seasons of his career, including his MVP 2023.

The four-timers (Dale Murphy and Tom Glavine)

For four years in the 1980s, Dale Murphy was arguably the best player in baseball. From 1982 to 1985, the outfielder took home two MVPs, four Gold Gloves, and four Silver Sluggers. The righty had a .293/.383/.533 slash line and a 148 wRC+ across the four seasons, which was fourth-best in MLB during that span.

Tom Glavine took home four Silver Sluggers from 1991 to 1998. Despite only hitting one career homer, the Hall of Famer slashed .226/.271/.257 during from 1991 to 1998. He had the fifth-highest batting average by a pitcher during this span, the fifth-highest OBP, and the 12th-best slugging.

The five-timer (Brian McCann)

If you were to ask a Braves fan to guess which Braves player has won the most Silver Sluggers in franchise history, they may guess Dale Murphy, Freddie Freeman, or Chipper Jones (who shockingly only took home two during his Hall of Fame career), but it is longtime catcher Brian McCann who has the edge.

There have only been 21 major leaguers to win the award six or more times, and Brian McCann stands among legends like Ken Griffey Jr, Ryne Sandberg, Mike Piazza, and Cal Ripken Jr. as a member of the six-timer club. McCann, who spent 10 of his 15 seasons with the Braves, won five of his six awards with the Braves, with his final Silver Slugger coming with the New York Yankees in 2015.

Between 2006 and 2011, B-Mac won five of the six Silver Sluggers for National League catchers, with Dodgers catcher Russell Martin winning in 2007. During this stretch, McCann slashed .287/.359/.491, good for a 122 wRC+, best among National League catchers.
