The offseason continues to roll on despite the Atlanta Braves being idle since the start of December. However, there's still plenty of time for the team to make an impact move to fill voids on their roster.

Ynoa showed some promise for the Braves early in his career and even flashed some impressive bat skills for a pitcher. Unfortunately, that all went downhill after he missed three months of the 2021 season due to breaking his hand punching a dugout bench.

He missed all of the 2023 season recovering from Tommy John surgery. Huascar attempted to return in 2024 but only pitched 29.2 minor league innings before being injured again by a stress reaction in his right elbow.

All of that led to the Braves deciding to part ways with their former pitcher. Huascar now finds himself back with the Minnesota Twins after both sides agreed to a minor-league deal with a spring training invitation. Ynoa was drafted by the Twins during the 2017 international signing period.

Earlier in the offseason, the Braves non-tendered a few players including former top pitching prospect Huascar Ynoa. He was only expected to make $825,000 in 2025 but Atlanta needed the roster spot this offseason.

Atlanta acquired Ynoa in July 2017 via a trade that sent veteran starter Jaime Garcia and catcher Anthony Recker to the Minnesota Twins. The Braves saw this as a great move at the time, and Ynoa made his MLB debut with the team in 2019.

He would eventually return but was removed from the NLCS roster due to shoulder issues. Ynoa only pitched 6.2 MLB innings in 2022 before being optioned to Triple-A. His struggles continued at Gwinnett where he pitched in18 games with a 5.68 ERA in 77.2 innings.

It has been a tough road for Ynoa and the 26 year old will do his best to try and get his career back on the right path.
