After years of waiting, legendary Braves outfielder Andruw Jones has finally been inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame. He has long been regarded as one of the best center fielders in baseball history, but a decline at the end of his career made his wait for enshrinement a bit longer than he'd have liked.
Jones' speech was great, and he thanked a lot of people who helped him reach this milestone. One of those people was his "brother from another mother," Chipper Jones, as well as his former coaches and teammates. The other notably being his late father, who helped him develop his skills as a kid in Curaçao.
He was inducted into the HOF alongside Carlos Beltran and Jeff Kent on Sunday afternoon in Cooperstown. With the Curaçao Kid finally making it into baseball mecca, let's revisit some of his most iconic career highlights.
Andruw Jones uses Turner Field wall to make incredible catch
This is the catch most fans probably think of when they hear Jones' name. It's certainly one of his best defensive highlights. Bill Spiers launched a fly ball to center field, and Jones immediately raced back with confidence. He leapt into the air and used his feet to plant into the wall while he made the over-the-shoulder catch.

The youngest player to homer in a World Series in 1996
Two months into his career, Jones made baseball history when he homered in his first two plate appearances of the 1996 World Series. He became the youngest player to homer in a World Series at19 years and 180 days old. That record has not been broken since.
Sets franchise record for most-homers during MVP-worthy season
2005 was arguably Jones' best season with the Braves. He slashed .263/.347/.575 with a .922 OPS and 6.7 WAR over 160 games. He finished second in the MVP voting that season thanks in part to his setting the franchise record for most homers in a season with 51. He also led the National League with 128 RBI. That record was eventually broken by Matt Olson, who hit 54 homers in 2023.
Diving catch to preserve a shut out for Tom Glavine
Jones preserved a shutout for Glavine against the Expos in 2002. He had to race for the ball and cover a lot of ground. Jones dove like Superman to make an incredible catch. The catch was so impressive that the lefty Glavine simply said, "Wow," after the game-ending catch was made.
Career home run no. 400
This milestone didn't come with the Braves, but it's still very impressive. Jones hit his 400th homer with the White Sox on July 11, 2010, against the Royals. It was a three-run homer off Anthony Lerew and was the final milestone homer hit by the outfielder. He ended his career with 434 homers.
