Atlanta Braves manager Brian Snitker has officially announced he is stepping away from the role after a decade. It was a move that almost everyone expected after the 2025 season, and Snit even alluded to this during his emotional press conference.

2025 was always going to be the final year for him at the helm despite his late season hesitance that caused some real uncertainty. However, he will be sticking around with the organization. Snitker will continue in his 50th year with the Braves in an advisory role within the front office. Whoever ends up managing the team next season will have big shoes to fill.

This transition will surely be odd for him at first, but it seems he's ready for the challenge. Snitker stated, “I’m excited for this new chapter of my life because I think at some point in time, everybody has to have that. I’m blessed that I can do it here in a place I was born and raised with this organization. And to continue to help in any way I can."

Brian Snitker will be inducted into the Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame in 2026

The Braves wasted no time ensuring Snit understood just how much he has meant to this organization over the last almost five decades. Not only did they allow him to remain with the team as an advisor, but they also bestowed him with a great honor.

Snitker will be inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame during the 2026 season. This is a perfect way to cap off his incredible career within the organization. From being a player to minor league coaching, all the way to being a World Series-winning manager, it's been quite the ride for Snit.

His players have always spoken so highly about him and advocated on his behalf for the last 10 years. It started in 2016 when Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis lobbied hard for him to remain in the role. That was something that remained constant in the clubhouse. He always seemed to have a good grasp on the clubhouse.

Snitker became the Braves' interim manager six weeks into the 2016 season and immediately earned the respect of veterans like Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis, who fought for him to remain in the role once the season ended. That love from players remained throughout his entire tenure as manager.

His resume as an MLB manager is impressive, with an 811-668 record from 2016 to 2025. He won NL Manager of the Year in 2018. He led the team to seven straight postseason appearances, with six consecutive division titles. Snit also helped lead the team to a World Series title in 2021.

He will be remembered as one of the best managers in Braves history. Snit was exactly the right person to manage this team over the last decade. We wish him nothing but the best in his new endeavor.
