The Atlanta Braves enter Friday in need of a strong performance against the Phillies to keep hopes of a season turnaround alive. They had a good start to their road series against the Mets, but dropped the last two games in New York and had to settle for a disappointing four game split. Philadelphia is the other boogeyman in the NL East at the moment, but thoughts of a statement series got put on pause due to rainy weather in the area.
The longer that Atlanta can't put together a sustained run, the odds that they will ever get back into the race will go down significantly and there is a real chance the Braves may be better served to sell at the trade deadline. With Bryce Elder set to take on Mick Abel for the series opener, the Braves announced that this game will not start on time and we are officially in a rain delay.
**UPDATE: 9:10 PM EST**
Unless the forecast changes in the near future, which is entirely possible given this crazy weather, we have an estimated start time. The Braves announced that the game against the Phillies should start at around 9:35 PM EST.
Barring any further changes in the weather, tonight’s game is scheduled to begin at 9:35pm ET.#RestorationOfPlay pic.twitter.com/yGX1yFZiFx

Braves vs. Phillies Rain Delay - 6/27/25: When will the game start?
The weather in the area seems to spread out in a hurry for an hour or so before fading away as the temps come down. With this being such a high profile and important series for both teams, expect everyone to make every effort to get this game in tonight and a postponement feels unlikely.
We will update this post as more information becomes available including when the game will start and if there are any updates on the weather. With an uncertain forecast and some scary looking clouds in the sky at the moment, we may be waiting around for a little bit. However, you can probably bank on this game getting played unless there is a pretty drastic change in the forecast.
