The Atlanta Braves came into Wednesday night looking to erase the stink of the beating that they took in game one of the series against the Mets. The bats showed up, but Spencer Strider struggled and the game got out of hand in a hurry. Sending Carlos Carrasco to the hill doesn't inspire the most confidence, but we will have to wait to see if Atlanta's gamble with him on the mound will pay off as this game is officially in a rain delay.

Before the delay, Carrasco was set to take on the Mets' David Peterson who has historically given the Braves fits. It is unclear that if either started had gotten far into their warm-up routine to put their start in jeopardy if there is a long delay, although the best guess is that the announcement came quick enough to prevent that from happening.

**UPDATE: 8:05 PM EST**

Looks like the delay is going to end up being a shade over an hour and a half. Barring a change in the forecast for the area around Citi Field, this game will get started at 8:45 PM EST.

Braves vs. Mets Rain Delay, 8/13/25: When will the game start?

There is just rain everywhere today and it is that very scattered summer rain that is hard to predict. As a result, there is a very good chance of rain throughout the evening and it would not be all that shocking if this game doesn't get postponed altogether. There is hope of finding a window to get the game in, but it can be tough with these broken up storm systems.

Best guess is that we could be in a delay over an hour as there just is a lot of weather in the area and these two teams aren't going to start the game back up only to have to enter a delay again if they can help it. After that, it is just going to depend on what Mother Nature has in store.

We will keep this post updated as more information becomes available as to when the game will start as well as any other changes in the forecast. If you are looking to stay up and watch the whole game once it gets going, you may want to get comfortable because we could be waiting a while.
