It is not hyperbole to say that the Atlanta Braves' series this weekend against the Dodger could easily set the tone for the rest of the 2025 season. If the Braves can win it, most of the memory of their brutal start to the season should begin to fade way. However, if the Dodgers come in and beat the Braves up like they did on the west coast to start the season, the doubts will get loud again. Sadly, this first game of the series is getting interrupted by the weather.

Thankfully the game was able to start on time, but things were looking pretty grim from the get-go as to finishing the game before a massive line of storms arrived in the Atlanta area. Sadly, the two NL powerhouses couldn't quite wrap this game up and now we are in a rain delay in the ninth inning that could be lengthy.

Braves vs. Dodgers Rain Delay: Here is when the game should resume if it does at all

It really would have been significantly better if this game could have finished before the weather arrived. Not only is this a big front blowing through, but it is not moving particularly fast. We are not meteorologists here, but it seems difficult to finish the last inning of this game tonight.

Other than the weather, the game was a classic pitcher's duel and fun to watch. Grant Holmes mostly stood toe to toe with Yoshinobu Yamamoto before a couple of mistakes led to a couple of runs. Matt Olson got the Braves back in the game with a solo shot.

We will keep this post updated as information becomes available as to what things are looking like at Truist Park and when this game will start back up (if at all).
