The Atlanta Braves are in desperate need of a win and soon. After Spencer Strider's rough start, the Braves find themselves back in a hole of their own digging and needing to turn things around yet again. Atlanta has the right guy on the mound to start making that happen in Chris Sale who is set to take on Arizona's Merrill Kelly. Unfortunately, some rainy weather in the area has those plans on pause.
There was some hope during the course of the day that the rain would be past Atlanta by the time the game was supposed to start. Sadly, it was not to be as the storms started rolling through and now the Braves' matchup against the Diamondbacks tonight is officially in a rain delay.
**Update: 7:52 PM EST**
Looks like the weather is clearing up. According to Braves beat writer Mark Bowman, this game will start at 8:20 PM EST unless something changes per word from the team.

Braves vs. Diamondbacks Rain Delay - 6/4: When will the game start?
While it is never fun to have to wait for weather to get to enjoy some Braves baseball, this delay shouldn't be too much of a problem in terms of time. The storms in the area are very scattered and moving northwest which is weird, but it also seems like they should be gone relatively quickly and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of severe weather coming through. This game getting banged feels very unlikely given the forecast and a lengthy delay even feels like a bit of a stretch. In short, stay tuned and keeping checking for updates.
Once more information as to when this game will get started as well as any weather updates are released, we will keep this post updated. It may be later than fans would want from a weeknight game, but odds are pretty good at the moment that his game gets played. As for whether the Braves can do anything of consequence once things get going, that is a different question entirely.
