On August 2, the Atlanta Braves will match up against thge Cincinnati Reds at Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee for the first ever MLB Speedway Classic. In the past, MLB has commemorated special event games with patches, and in the case of the Field of Dreams and Little League Classic, specialized uniforms, but there was no indication they were planning to go all out for the Bristol game.

However, on Monday morning, MLB released the Speedway Classic special edition uniforms, and it's safe to say these might be some of the greatest special edition uniforms to ever exist.

Braves' Speedway Classic uniforms are instantly iconic

While the front of the jersey might not be any different than what fans are accustom to seeing during Braves roads games, every other part of the uniform screams NASCAR.

Instead of the typical number font, the Speedway Classic will feature a much rounder, italicized NASCAR-styled numbering. The number font is doubled onto the helmet, that will also feature a checkered pattern and an Atlanta wordmark along the earflap. The Braves classic cursive A is still featured on the front of the helmet, but will also include an Atlanta Braves script as well.

The Braves will also wear a special edition cap to go along with the jersey. The navy crown stays the same, but now features a red button and stars on top. The navy bill will include a flame design that might become one of the most popular hats in MLB.

The Reds' uniforms will have a similar treatment, but their caps will have a checkered pattern along the bill instead of the flame design.

The uniforms, while still maintaining the team's identity, are a perfectly extravagant look for the first ever Speedway Classic, and should make for a very aesthetically pleasing game.
