One of the more pleasant unexpected side effects of the World Cup being in North America has been all of the hijinks that fans from other countries have been causing. Some have chronicled their first trips to such fine institutions as Waffle House, while other groups of fans have completely taken over other sporting events to the delight of all. For the Atlanta Braves, it has been English soccer fans that have been on hand and causing a bit of chaos with some help from Michael Harris II.

The followers of England's World Cup squad decided to adopt Harris II as their guy recently during a series at Truist Park, and Harris has loved every single minute of it. He has been mixing it up and having fun with the fans in that section of the stands and has put out some hilarious posts on social media showing that his affection is mutual.

However, what might have won over any English holdouts is that during a recent podcast interview, Harris predicted that England would beat Brazil 3-2 in the knockout round over the weekend. Well, that is EXACTLY what happened.

Michael Harris II's spot-on prediction of England's World Cup win continues what has been a hilarious storyline

If you thought that the English were being loud in their support of Harris before, you can bet that that support will be even MORE enthusiastic now that England has advanced in the World Cup. At this point, it wouldn't be all that surprising if Harris made his way out into the outfield before a game wearing the full Team England kit.

This is just good ol' clean fun and a welcome reprieve from what has been a tough year for a lot of people. Sometimes, it is just good to embrace a certain amount of silliness, especially when it doesn't come at anyone's expense. The English fans just decided that Harris was going to be their guy, and Harris has been playing it up perfectly. That England is still in it is great for everyone involved.

Hopefully the soccer fans that have stuck around have been working up some new Harris chants and that the Braves' centerfielder keeps leaning into it. If England can keep this run going, Harris might end up getting knighted before it is all said and done.
