MLB made the decision last year to introduce the Spring Breakout as another way for the league to showcase the top players in the minor leagues beyond just the Futures Game during the All-Star break. In 2024, the Atlanta Braves had Nacho Alvarez and Drake Baldwin make good impressions in the event and by all accounts, it was a success.
As a result, the decision was made to bring Spring Breakout back to try and make it a regular occurrence during spring training. This year, the series of games will occur from March 13-16 with the Braves' farmhands squaring off against the Tigers' prospects on March 16.
As to which Braves prospects we will see in the game, that has been unknown at least until now as every team in the league just revealed their Spring Breakout rosters. This year, Atlanta is sending a very interesting group to the Spring Breakout that does not include many of their top prospects.

Atlanta's Spring Breakout roster is as much about who isn't being included as who is. Drake Baldwin, AJ Smith-Shawver, and Nacho Alvarez's absences suggest that they still have a chance to make the major league roster and the Braves want to keep them in MLB camp. Given Sean Murphy's injury, that is probably a good idea when it comes to Baldwin.
However, not including 2024 first round pick Cam Caminiti or Hurston Waldrep is pretty curious as neither pitcher is in big league camp. One suspects that the Atlanta would prefer these two get their work in away from the bright lights which tracks with how quickly the Braves re-assigned Waldrep this spring.
