Atlanta Braves prospect Eric Hartman was largely unknown to fans for the last couple of years. It makes sense why he would have been. He was drafted in the 20th round of the 2024 MLB Draft out of Holy Trinity High School in Canada.
However, Hartman has quickly become Atlanta's number one prospect on many rankings very quickly since then. Hartman's first full professional season in 2025 wasn't the most impressive. He had a .240 average, five homers, 17 doubles, 42 RBI, 48 stolen bases, and a .699 OPS over 89 games. Nothing special to write home about, outside of his ability to steal bases. It was clear that Hartman would be a huge threat on the base paths. Hartman has clearly figured something out in 2026. He currently carries a .268/.364/.495 slash line, with 21 doubles, 26 homers, 71 RBI, 48 stolen bases, and an .859 OPS.
That is a drastic increase in power and production. What's more impressive is that he's sustained this success for most of the year. He's having one of the best minor league seasons in the organization's history.
Braves prospect Eric Hartman has finally figured things out at Double-A Columbus
The speedster struggled early after his promotion to Double-A. His batting average at the level dropped to .210 on August 21st, with just one extra-base hit over 17 games. However, Hartman seems to have figured things out. The righty has two doubles, two homers, and seven RBI over his last four games. This is a huge development because it shows his ability to adapt when he runs into struggles.

It will be important for Hartman to continue to make adjustments and show he has the potential to impact the big league club. The stolen bases have continued to rack up for Hartman thanks to his ability to get on base. He has 10 steals since joining the Clingstones.
Hartman's already matched his total from 2025 and will likely have 60+ stolen bases when the season ends. That will be a huge asset for the Braves in the future. It would be fun to see Hartman get called up when the rosters expand in September. However, that is unlikely to happen. He still needs some time to develop.
