Things continue to not go well for the Atlanta Braves in 2025. They lost yet another series after failing to score more than one run against the Diamondbacks on Wednesday night. Chris Sale tossed a great game and the team couldn't find a way to provide him run support.

If they don't get back on track soon, they will be forced to consider being sellers at the trade deadline. That's not what anyone expected for this team but it's close to the reality. Instead of focusing on the poor state of things, let's check out some of the latest Braves news.

Braves rookie phenom Drake Baldwin named NL Rookie of the Month

Baldwin has been quite the revelation for the Braves this season. Despite this being his first taste of MLB action, you'd think he'd done it before. He has some impressive presence at the plate and impressive bat control.

Atlanta is lucky to once again have one of the best catching platoons in baseball. Baldwin has played so well that he was awarded NL Rookie of the Month for May. He batted an impressive .389 in May with 24 hits, including two doubles, three homers, nine RBI, and a 1.003 OPS.

He is creating quite the resume for Rookie of the Year and he may be the next candidate for an early extension. The Braves really like what they've seen from the Wisconsin native and they'd be wise to lock up his talent for years to come.

Update on Braves reliever Joe Jimenez is encouraging

Atlanta's bullpen has struggled at times this year, especially with the eighth-inning role. Losing Joe Jimenez has turned out to be a pretty major loss for the Braves. He underwent knee surgery and was expected to miss most (if not all) of this season.

He was excellent for the Braves last season with a 2.62 ERA and career highs in appearances (69) and innings pitched (68.2). Jimenez had 23 walks to 82 strikeouts, good enough for a 3.57 K/BB ratio.

We hadn't really heard much about his status but Jimenez appeared on a podcast recently and provided an update. He is currently doing long toss and expects to start throwing bullpens at the end of June.

This is good to hear as throwing bullpens puts him significantly closer to returning. If those bullpens go well, Atlanta can consider sending him on a rehab assignment so he can ramp up his arm. However, it would likely be closer to August before he is back with the MLB squad. His health is most important but we'd love to have him back as soon as possible.

Braves top prospect Cam Caminiti promoted to Augusta GreenJackets

The Braves have seen a lot of impressive performances from their minor league system this year. Lots of promotions and improvements through each level and Cam Caminiti is no exception.

Caminiti has officiall progressed to Atlanta's Low-A affiliate, the Augusta GreenJackets. Caminiti has pitched 13.2 innings so far at the rookie ball level with the FCL Braves. He has a 7.24 ERA with two walks and 15 strikeouts. With the injury concerns that circled Caminiti this spring, it is going to be great to see him against some real competition.

This isn't his first stop with Augusta as he appeared in three innings for them after being drafted last year. This will be his first true test and it will interesting to see how he develops. Caminiti is just 18 years old so it's going to be a little while before he makes his MLB debut.
