It's been an interesting start to spring training for the Atlanta Braves. There's a lot to be excited for, but a couple of injuries put a bit of a damper on things. That is pretty much par for the course with these modern Braves teams, but it would have been nice to be able to enjoy camp for a week or two before losing anyone.

There has been a lot of content to keep up with, so let's take a look at a few things you may have missed over the last few days.

Braves News: Chris Sale wants to finish his incredible career in Atlanta

Chris Sale has been an absolute revelation for the Braves since being acquired from the Red Sox two years ago. Both sides have enjoyed the partnership, and it seems like this could be where Sale ends his career.

Atlanta's southpaw ace is in the final year of his contract that will pay him $18 million in 2026. That's an absolute bargain for a Cy Young pitcher in today's environment. He will turn 37 this year, so there's no telling how long he will pitch beyond this season.

However, he made it clear to Braves insider Gabe Burns that he'd like to end his career with Atlanta. Sale stated, “I would like to (finish my career with the Braves).” He continued, “I really like being here. These guys obviously gave me a shot and picked me up off the ground. I ended ’23 kind of limping into the offseason. Everyone has been great to me here, and I really enjoy being here.”

GM Alex Anthopoulos feels the same way, as he stated, "One of my favorite players I’ve had as a GM. I’m grateful I’ve had a chance to be part of his career and be part of a team that had him. Those guys are so hard to find. The value beyond what they do on the field is immense. The hope is that he plays as long as he wants to and that it will be with the Braves.”

Atlanta fans likely feel the same way about Sale. Hopefully, 2026 is another incredible showing for the talented lefty.

Braves News: Ha-Seong Kim's injury update provides some hope for the Braves

Ha-Seong Kim's injury was not what Braves fans wanted to hear about before the season even started. Especially after Atlanta signed him to a one-year, $20 million contract. The initial reports stated he wouldn't return for 6-8 weeks.

Fortunately, it seems Kim could be ahead of schedule on that timeline, according to Braves insider Mark Bowman. That would be a very welcome sight for the team. This means Kim could be back in May.

In the meantime, Mauricio Dubon is extremely excited about the opportunity to be the starting shortstop on Opening Day. Once Kim returns, Dubon would immediately strengthen Atlanta's bench.

Braves News: Atlanta's external starting pitching search has suddenly dwindled

The Braves have yet to find another starting pitcher after stating they had wanted to add one this offseason. Fans kept waiting for the big announcement of a starter like Ranger Suarez. When the big names fell off the board, there was just hope they'd get an experienced starter who had playoff experience.

That still hasn't happened. It feels like the Braves will only add an external option if they are absolutely forced to. While they have a good core in Chris Sale, Spencer Strider, Reynaldo Lopez, and Grant Holmes. Three of those have had issues with health, and it could all fall apart in a moment.

Chris Bassitt felt destined to be a Brave, but he landed with the Orioles. Zac Gallen returned to the Diamondbacks, and there really isn't anyone left worth spending on. Atlanta may have to pursue the trade market to fill that need. However, it seems AA is willing to let internal options compete for the fifth and final spot in the rotation.
