Sadly, the Atlanta Braves are not taking part in the ongoing 2025 playoffs which is most unfortunately. It has been years since Braves fans have had to watch the postseason without any skin in the game. Sure, rooting against the Phillies, Dodgers, and Yankees is pretty fun, but it isn't the same without Atlanta in the middle of things.

Thankfully, just because the team isn't playing games right now doesn't mean things are quiet when it comes to the Braves. In fact, the stage is being set right now for a really exciting start to the offseason.

Braves News: Chipper Jones took Bobby Cox critics to task on social media in the wake of Snitker's retirement

Braves legend Chipper Jones has a reputation of saying...well, whatever pops into his head at any given moment and it doesn't always end well. Most recently, Jones' comments on being a manager made the rounds and were surprisingly insightful and self-aware about his own shortcomings. Lost in those comments was Chipper blasting Atlanta radio host Mike Bell for taking a shot at former manager Bobby Cox when discussing Brian Snitker's legacy.

There is certainly a debate to be had over Snitker's tenure as manager vs. Cox's with arguments on both sides, but Chipper clearly took issue with the timing of Bell's post as well as it's general premise. Bell's job is to try and distill hot takes down into sound bites and perhaps he succeeded here, but he also drew the ire of at least one Braves Hall of Famer in the process.

Braves News: Bringing back Ha-Seong Kim appears to be Atlanta's top offseason priority...for now

The elephant in the room for the Braves when it comes to their actual roster is the future of Ha-Seong Kim. While the ideal situation may be that Kim exercises his player option and Atlanta gets a full season out of him before deciding whether or not to commit to him long-term, his performance after the Braves claimed him all but confirmed that Kim would at least test free agency.

However, don't expect the Braves to give up on Kim just like that. Based on comments that president of baseball operations Alex Anthopoulos made to the media late last week, it certainly seems like that the Braves have bringing back Kim as a top priority and they are going to stay in the bidding for his services for as long as the asking price is remotely reasonable.

Braves News: Tony Vitello has heard the manager rumors, but has not had direct contact with MLB teams yet

One name that was recently floated as a potential Snitker replacement that drew a lot of attention as a bit of a wild was University of Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello. Vitello is certainly one of the best coaches in college baseball, but the track record of coaches jumping straight into a MLB manager chair is sketchy at best and it is going to take a lot of money to pry Vitello away and risk his career.

For now, it doesn't seem like Vitello becoming a manager anywhere doesn't seem overly close. When asked about all of the rumors regarding him as a manager, Vitello acknowledged he has heard them and also said that he letting his agent handle his off the field stuff and that he hasn't spoken to a MLB team about a manager job. In short, stay tuned.
