Understandably, baseball fans (or at least the ones that were still awake) reacted VERY strongly to the news on Thursday evening that the Dodgers had signed Kyle Tucker. Dodgers fans were obviously thrilled while basically the rest of the league were outraged that LA once again threw stupid money at another top free agent and revived calls for massive rules changes in the next CBA. However, the Atlanta Braves' Michael Harris II.

The Braves obviously have a long history with the Dodgers including a number of high profile playoff matchups in recent years. Harris has had a front row seat to that rivalry since he debuted and it is very clear based on his post on social media immediately after the Tucker news that he is as tired of LA's shenanigans as anyone.

Braves fans were probably nodding in agreement after Michaell Harris II cried foul on Dodgers signing of Kyle Tucker

This was just the best reaction we could see out of this situation. Harris didn't need a signal word to convey his thoughts on LA's move and it had the added benefit of being pretty funny. There is no shortage of people out there that are taking themselves very seriously breaking down every way this signing and the Dodgers are ruining baseball, but few are adding real levity to the situation despite being directly impacted by the Dodgers' tomfoolery.

However, Harris also points out the elephant in the room. The CBA is expiring after the 2026 season and there is basically no way their isn't a work stoppage next offseason that could bleed into the 2027 season and cost fans games.

No one seems to have a solution that is going to appease everyone. Most owners want to put caps on spending while the Dodgers, Mets, and Blue Jays are spending wildly. Players don't want any caps on spending...except when they do in the case of LA, NY, and Toronto. It is a huge mess and that isn't even taking into account the ongoing TV rights debacle that is going to raise more revenue questions.

For now, all anyone can do is laugh like Harris did here. Everyone can hate it, but the Dodgers are not doing anything against the rules and it is nice to see players getting paid...to a point. However, it isn't going to be a laughing matter when next season is threatened when all of these rules and spending issues are pushed to the forefront.
