Atlanta Braves outfielder Jurickson Profar hasn't had a great start with his new organization. From the the start of the season, his PED suspension was just a precursor for the dread that followed for Braves fans with Profar at least partially to blame. Starting the season 0-7, relentless injuries, and horrible offensive underperformance.

It's hard not to blame anyone for not being upset with Profar. This season hasn't been for the faint of heart. However, he apologized, accepted his punishment, and will have to do his best to win fans over.

His return in July wasn't as great as he hoped it would be. Profar slashed .238/.313/.396 with a 98 wRC+. His walk rate sat at 8% and he struck out 17% of the time. Not the best for a guy who is known for getting on base and making contact.

Jurickson Profar's insane August performance should help earn back the trust of fans burned by his suspension

That has all changed in August as Profar is on an absolute tear right now. Atlanta's left fielder is slashing .288/.424/.613 with one triple, three doubles, seven home runs, 14 K, 17 BB, 21 RBI, and a gaudy 186 wRC+.

During his stretch of success, Profar even set a bit of history. He became just the fifth player to have 13 RBI over a five-game stretch as a leadoff hitter since Ohtani accomplished the feat in 2024. As Braves insider David O'Brien pointed out, it's the most RBI by Profar over any 5-game stretch in his career.

Profar added to that total on Sunday against the Mets. His two-run single with bases loaded and two outs in the bottom of the eighth prevented the Braves from being swept by their rivals. This gave Profar a .379 average over his last seven games, with four homers and 15 RBI. He also provided a nice diving catch.

This success has helped him begin that process of winning Braves fans back. It's going to be a long journey back, but if he continues to play well, that will make things a bit easier.
