The Atlanta Braves have a number of spots in their bullpen to fill, but the reality is that the odds they were ever going to spend significantly on multiple relievers this offseason were farfetched. Yes, they did bring back Raisel Iglesias for $16 million, but the writing was on the wall that Atlanta was looking to reallocate the funds spent on the bullpen when they let Tyler Kinley and Pierce Johnson go.
So far, that logic has tracked with the Braves' decision-making as they have mainly limited their bullpen makeover to minor league deals and fringe roster additions. That trend continued on Friday when the Braves announced that they were claiming Osvaldo Bido and Anthony Molina off of waivers.
The #Braves today claimed RHP Osvaldo Bido off waivers from the Athletics and RHP Anthony Molina off waivers from the Colorado Rockies. To make room on the 40-man roster, the club designated LHP Josh Walker for assignment.

Braves add Osvaldo Bido and Anthony Molina off the waiver wire as bullpen overhaul continues
If you are wondering who Josh Walker is and when he joined the Braves, that is completely fair. Atlanta had only claimed Walker off of waivers a couple weeks ago from the Orioles. However, it looks like the Braves like both Bido and Molina heading into 2026 more than Walker, so he has to try and catch on elsewhere.
As for the two new additions, they are relatively tame when it comes to their profiles. Bido used to be pretty good at avoiding barrels and getting soft contact, but his 2025 metrics across the board were a horror show and he has never been much of a strikeout guy. As for Molina, it is hard to say what his stuff will look like away from Coors Field, but the former Rockie does get decent extension and throws reasonably hard (95-96 mph usually).
Again, this isn't a worldbeating move. However, it is clear that Atlanta is looking to be busy this offseason as they just added Ben Gamel earlier in the day. With the Winter Meetings starting on Sunday, this could be only the beginning.
