Despite the 2025 season not going to plan whatsoever, the Atlanta Braves are still among the most popular teams in all of baseball. As a result, the league likes to highlight them when possible. Over the years, that has not only meant a healthy number of Braves games in primetime TV slots, but it has also meant that Atlanta has been a regular participant in special games that MLB has put on.
There have been a couple of clear examples of this. The game played at Fort Bragg in 2016 was groundbreaking in MLB's attempts to expand the game and, of course, there was this season's game played at Bristol Motor Speedway where the Braves took on the Reds which set attendance records.
That trend appears to be continuing next season. Each yeah, MLB holds the Little League Classic in Williamsport, PA as a celebration of youth baseball and the league's connection to it's growth. Assuming that the reporting from Forbes is true, the Braves will take part in next year's Little League Classic against the Brewers.
Braves expected to take on Brewers in 2026 Little League Classic
According to the report, the matchup with Milwaukee would take place on Sunday, August 23, 2026 (the report said August 24, but that seems to just be a mistake based on the calendar) and would serve as the series finale for what will be a road series against the Brewers. For those Braves fans worried about jetting from Milwaukee to Williamsport without a day off, do not worry. The following Monday is an off day before the Braves return back home for a three game series against the Dodgers.
While not the marquee event like the previous games or the game at Rickwood Field in 2024, the Little League Classic is still an important event that helps expand baseball's reach while giving a spotlight to the kids that play baseball they deserve. The game doesn't keep existing without getting them involved earlier and while a small gesture, it should still be a good time.
It should also hopefully be a game with two really good teams in it. The Braves certainly aren't playing well this year, but you can fully expect Alex Anthopoulos to try and get the roster back on track this offseason. As for the Brewers, they look like one of the favorites to win the World Series this year and will probably return most of the same roster next season. In short, this should be a really fun game on a number of levels.
