After looking into the best Atlanta Braves from each state, we decided to expand our scope and look at the best Braves players from each country and territory, as defined by Baseball-Reference and their birth place.

In the club's extensive history, they've fielded players from a lot of different countries and territories – 25 to be exact. While certain countries have produced superstars, and a few countries have produced solid role players, other countries have produced a single player who would have been forgotten to Braves history had they not been the sole representitive of their country.

Here are the best Atlanta Braves players ever from each country (or territory)

Aruba - Chadwick Tromp

The former Braves third-string catcher happens to be the only Aruban-born MLB player to wear a Braves uniform. Across five separate seasons, Tromp only appeared in 40 games with a 53 OPS+, but did somehow manage to have several memorable moments with the club.

Australia - Peter Moylan

While the Braves have had three Australian-born players, Peter Moylan is by far the best of the three. Joe Quinn, who played with the Braves from 1888 to 1892, only amassed 2.2 bWAR, while Damian Moss, only totaled 2.2 BWAR in his two seasons. Peter Moylan accrued 4.6 bWAR in 356 games across nine different seasons. In addition to being more valuable, Moylan is certainly more notable, as he's continued being a part of Braves fans live after retiring, as he joined the Braves broadcasting team in 2019 and stayed on ever since.

Bahamas - Antoan Richardson

The Braves current first base coach is one of two Bahamian-born Braves. Wenty Ford, a pitcher, appeared in two games and collected two hits in five at bats, but struggled from the mound in four appearances. Antoan RIchardson, a position player, went 2-4, and had a stolen base. Although Richardson didn't pitch 17 innings, we'll give him the slight edge, especially with recency bias.

Brazil - Luiz Gohara

Former Braves prospect Luiz Gohara is the only Brazilian-born Braves player in their franchise's history. He appeared in 14 games, totalling 49 innings with a 5.33 ERA.

Canada - Michael Soroka

The Braves have had plenty of Canadians on their club over their 155 years of existance, but none of them have managed to separate themselves from the rest. Although Jeff Heath leads Braves Canadians in bWAR, his 6.1 bWAR is only 0.4 bWAR more than Michael Soroka's, and considering Soroka's All-Star appearance in 2019, we're giving Soroka the edge here.

Besides, there's always a shot Soroka returns to the Braves.

Colombia - Julio Teheran

The Braves haven't had a lot of Colombians put on a Braves uniform, but they've had several outstanding performers. Edgar Renteria was phenomenal in his two seasons with Atlanta, and Didier Fuentes looks posed to be a mainstay for several years.

However, six-time Opening Day starter Julio Teheran accrued 20.2 bWAR in his nine seasons with the Braves, which easily makes him the best Colombian Brave ever.

Cuba - Raisel Iglesias

The Braves have had 26 Cuban-born players in their history, but only two have really made enough of a difference to be considered the best. While Jorge Soler did win the World Series MVP in 2021, he only played two half seasons for the Braves, acquired after the deadline in both of those seasons.

Yunel Escobar has the most bWAR among Cuban born Braves players, but Raisel Iglesias four-and-a-half season run as a lights-out reliever gives him the slight edge over the former Braves shortstop.

Curaçao - Andruw Jones

Ignoring *that* player, the Atlanta Braves have had incredible success with players from the small island of Curaçao. Jair Jurrjens, Andrelton Simmons, and Ozzie Albies have all been front and center on their teams, and Kenley Jansen had a decent run as a closer in 2022. Even Randall Simon had an .804 OPS in 110 games.

However, the best Curaçao-born Braves player has to be the one with a plaque in Cooperstown and a number hanging at Trusit Park. That player, of course, is Andruw Jones.

Dominican Republic - Rico Carty

The Dominican Republic has produced the most Braves players outisde of the United States. The position players have outperformed the pitchers, but the top position players all have their arguments.

Marcell Ozuna had his ups and downs, but he finished his time with the Braves with the most homers of any Dominican player. Rafael Furcal played shortstop and had the most stolen bases, while Felipe Allou had the most hits. However, Rico Carty produced the most bWAR with 23.1, and had the highest OPS of the top four Dominican players.

Germany - Glenn Hubbard

The Braves have only had six German-born players in their history, but former second baseman Glenn Hubbard easily leads in both bWAR and years played. He played 1196 games for Atlanta. No one else even played 90.

Honduras - Mauricio Dubón

Maurcio Dubón is the only Honduran-born Braves player. However, unlike some of the other "by default" players on this list, Dubón's lone Braves season was solid, as he was worth 2.7 bWAR in 153 games, playing all over the diamond.

Ireland - Tommy Bond

The Braves have not had an Irish-born player since 1907, but the greatest Irish-born Braves player might be one of the greastest in franchise history, at least by bWAR. Despite only playing five seasons for the then-nameless Boston team, Tommy Bond somehow managed to acrue a ridiculous 41.2 bWAR, with a 2.21 ERA and 149 wins between 1877 and 1881.

Japan - Takashi Saito

The Braves have only had two Japanese players in their history, and while Kenshin Kawakami has more bWAR, Takashi Saito had a 2.83 ERA in 54 innings pitched in 2010, which is arguably better than how Kawakami performed over his 243.2 innings.

Mexico - Max León

The Braves have had their fair share of Mexican-born players, but none have really broken through. Max León leads with 3.6 bWAR, which is double the next best player. León pitched from the Braves from 1973 to 1978.

NIcaragua - Dennis Martínez

Nicaragua hasn't produced many players to begin with, and so far, Dennis Martínez is the only Nicaraguan-born player to suit up for the Braves. Martínez had an impressive career that spanned 23 seasons, but by the time he joined Atlanta, he was already 44. In his final season he had a 4.45 ERA in 91 innings, which Baseball-Reference graded out at -1.0 bWAR.

Panama - Johan Camargo

The Braves have had 12 Panamanian players on their roster in their history, but for the most part, none have performed all that notably. Johan Camargo amassed the most bWAR, with 3.6, nearly 2 bWAR more than the next-best player, and that is almost entirely due to his 2018. Because of that season, Camargo runs away as the best Panamanian Brave ever.

Poland - Moe Drabowsky

The Braves have had two Polish players in their history, Moe Drabowsky and Henry Peploski. The two were both worth -0.1 bWAR. Drabowsky gets the edge, however as he managed to be worth 0.1 bWAR on offense, as he went 1-4 with a walk. His pitching was underwhelming, as he had a 4.62 ERA in 25.1 innings, worth -0.2 bWAR.

Puerto Rico - Javy López

Puerto Rico has produced a few solid Braves players, from Félix Millán, Orlando Cepeda, Javier Vázquez, and Joe Jiménez, but if you combined their bWAR during their tenure with the Braves, it would only be worth 2,8 bWAR more than what Javy López produced during his 12 seasons with Atlanta. With three All-Star appearances, a Silver Slugger, and an NLCS MVP, López is easily the best Puerto Rican-born Braves player.

Slovakia - Jack Quinn

Slovakia has only produced three MLB players. One of thiose was Jack Quinn, who played one of his 23 seasons for the Boston Braves, producing 0.9 bWAR and a 2.40 ERA in 56.1 innings in 1913. .

South Korea - Jung Keun Bong

The Braves have only had two South Korean-born players in their franchise history. Jung Keun Bong was worth -0.5 bWAR in his two seasons with the Braves in 2002 and 2003. When Atlanta re-signed Ha-Seong Kim this offseason after 24 game cameo in 2025, the shortstop seemed prime to establish himself as the best Braves player from his home country. Instead, Kim had one of the worst hitting seasons in Braves history.

Because of this, Bong remains the best South Korean to ever wear a Braves uniform.

Switzerland - Otto Hess

Otto Hess is the only Swiss player to ever play for the Braves, pitching from 1912 to 1915. He had a 3.68 ERA in 575 innings, worth only 1.8 bWAR, but also had a .675 OPS in 249 plate appearances, and even played 15 games at first base for the Braves.

U.S. Virgin Islands - Akeel Morris

Akeel Morris is the only Braves player to be born in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He allowed one run in 7.1 innings.

United Kingdom - Ted Lewis

The braves have had 14 players from the United Kingdom throughout their history. While most were born in the 1800s, there have been a few in the modern era. Still, none have been as good as Ted Lewis, who accumulated 16.1 bWAR from 1896 to 1900.

United States of America - Hank Aaron

With thousands of American-born players to choose from, it would seem like this might be a harder exercise to choose the best one, Fortunately, there's an obvious answer. The former home run king not only runs away in the bWAR category, he's also one of the greatest players to ever play the game. Hammerin' Hank Aaron is our pick for the best American-born Braves player.

Venezuela - Ronald Acuña Jr.

There have been over 40 Venezuelan-born Braves players, but Ronald Acuña Jr. is easily the best of the bunch. With 30.6 bWAR, he has nearly double the bWAR as the next-best player, Martín Prado, and over triple the third-best, Ender Inciarte.
