Reactions to Andruw Jones' election to the Hall of Fame on Tuesday night were not in short supply. Most Atlanta Braves fans were thrilled that Jones finally got in after being forced to wait until his ninth time on the ballot. Some thought that others should have gotten in first like Dale Murphy and then there the malcontents that didn't think Jones deserved induction and would shout at anyone who would listen.

USA Today's Bob Nightengale was among those that chimed in with his thoughts on Jones' election. He talked about Jones being the first player from Curacao to get into Cooperstown (which is pretty cool) while also reflecting on the great Braves teams from the 1990's and early 2000's.

The problem: Nightengale completely forgot about the guy who was just elected when giving an updated list of Braves from that dominant era that are now in the Hall of Fame.

Bob Nightengale found a way to forget about Andruw Jones while talking about his election to the Hall of Fame

Look, Nightengale has a long history of gaffes on social media and this one won't be the last. Quite famously, he decided that the Didi Gregorius trade was comparable to the Babe Ruth trade and he has a tendency to send tweets/posts out without given them a proper read. If he had forgotten Fred McGriff (who was a recent election and not through the normal ballot process) or non-players like John Schuerholz or Bobby Cox, that would be understandable.

But how in the world do you forget about Jones on the night he got voted in? If you are going through the trouble of making this list of former Braves from that era to point out that the list just got longer, how does leaving the newest edition out even happen? You would think one would either start or end the list with Jones, but nope.

In fairness to Nightengale, everyone was trying to chime in with their thoughts as quickly as possible to take advantage of the public's attention in the moments and silly things happen sometimes. However, this one is particularly funny and egregious coming from one of the more prominent MLB insiders out there.
