The trade deadline is over, and the reviews of the Atlanta Braves' moves haven't been kind whatsoever. However, the team DID add Lane Thomas, Tyler Mahle, and Brent Suter while clearing their roster of Joey Bart and Eli White, so it wasn't like they were sitting on their hands or anything. Sadly, hopes of adding a playoff-caliber rotation arm were dashed, but it is what it is.
However, there were plenty of other moves made around the league, including some that included some familiar faces. Whether it was the top of the market or minor trades along the way, there were plenty of former Braves players on the move.
Here are all of the former Braves players that were traded at the deadline this year
One quick note here is that the focus is on players that actually played in the majors for the Braves. If you really want to know the fate of Victor Vodnik or other former Braves prospects, you won't find your answers here.
Kevin Gausman
Gausman had a tumultuous tenure with the Braves, where he was a top trade addition in 2018, but struggled in 2019 before being shipped to the Reds. After ending up with the Giants in 2020, Gausman became one of the better starters in baseball over the next six seasons, first with San Francisco followed by the Blue Jays. Toronto opted to ship Gausman to the Cubs in one of the more consequential moves of the entire deadline.
AJ Minter
Braves fans remember AJ Minter's tenure well, as he was a critical bullpen arm for eight seasons before a hip injury during his walk year resulted in his departure. Unfortunately, a Braves reunion with Minter was likely never in the cards, as any trade with the Mets is immediately problematic thanks to division rivalry nonsense. Still, it was extremely likely that Minter was going to get moved, and New York opted to send Minter to the Twins. We miss you, AJ.
Scott Blewett
Scott Blewett is a strong frontrunner for the player with the worst name for a reliever, and he had a short (and bad) stint with Atlanta in 2025 where he posted a 5.51 ERA in 11 appearances. Blewett had been with the Cardinals, where he had only made one appearance in 2026. However, the Athletics saw something they liked and scooped him up.
Kirby Yates
While he only made 70 appearances across two seasons with the Braves, Kirby Yates proved to be a nice little pickup for the Braves' bullpen. Since leaving following the 2023 season, Yates has hopped around to the Rangers, Dodgers, and finally the Angels, who traded the veteran reliever to the Pirates. Given that Pittsburgh desperately needed bullpen help, Yates will get plenty of runway to establish himself there.
Hunter Stratton
Hunter Stratton DID play for the Braves in two different seasons, but he only appeared out of the bullpen in a handful of games combined. When the Braves were dealing with injuries to both Drake Baldwin and Sean Murphy, Atlanta traded Stratton to the Pirates to acquire Joey Bart (who also got traded at the deadline). Stratton did not exactly impress during his time with Pittsburgh, and they opted to ship him out to the Padres.
