The Atlanta Braves are embarking on the tough task of navigating the playoffs to give themselves a shot at a World Series. It won't be easy, as there is some stiff competition for them right out of the gate. Atlanta will have to get by their hated division rival to make that dream possible, although they are off to a great start thanks to their thrilling victory in Game One.
This won't be possible without some of the most important players on the team stepping up. The Braves have a decent number of veterans who have a taste of the postseason. Atlanta needs a few of them to step up in a big way if they have a shot at winning the grand prize.

Austin Riley
Riley didn't have a very good time this season with a .219 average and just 19 home runs, along with a .654 OPS. He hasn't had the best luck in the playoffs either, but his recent resurgence at the end of the season could bode well for Atlanta, especially after his massive homer in Game One to secure the win.
Ronald Acuña Jr.
Atlanta's superstar outfielder has finally gotten himself back to being one of the most feared hitters in baseball. He's had some big postseason moments, and he's shown he can still shine in the biggest moments this season. Acuña will need to be at his very best and set the tone for the Braves' offense.
Matt Olson
Olson had yet another 40+ homer season, and continues to be one of the most dependable players on the team. He only has four postseason homers, and his playoff average of .203 isn't the most encouraging. However, Olson has the ability to change the game in a split second. He is a leader for the Braves, and we will need the best version of him in October.
Raisel Iglesias
Iggy remains one of the best closers in baseball, and he was good again in 2026. The righty had a 2.55 ERA, 34 saves, and 64 strikeouts over 60 innings. His career postseason numbers haven't given much faith that he can help the team. But he hasn't had many chances, with just 5.1 innings pitched in the playoffs. He will be a huge X-factor for the team.
