The trade deadline is just days away, and the Braves will be working diligently to improve the team by filling areas of need. Whether that is a frontline starter, an impact bat, or a high-leverage reliever.
Atlanta will need to consider what prospects they are willing to let go of to make things happen. Alex Anthopoulos doesn't like to give away prospects unless he feels the move actually helps the team. This year feels like the time to really cash in their prospect capital.
However, there are a few prospects that almost feel like they are more important than others. Let's take a look at a handful of prospects and why they may be important.

Cam Caminiti
Atlanta's number one prospect has to be available in any trade package for impact players. Caminiti is starting to flourish in the minor leagues and is coming off an incredible 14-strikeout performance in his most recent start.
That kind of pitching right before the trade deadline is going to catch the attention of other teams. Caminiti has a 3.89 ERA over 83.1 innings (18 games), with 37 walks and 93 strikeouts. His fastball tops out at 97 mph, and he pairs that with a slider and changeup to get swings and misses.
There's a lot of upside with the lefty, and he will be one of the first names that teams bring up in trade conversations.
Alex Lodise
Alex Lodise has played his way to one of the best position player prospects in Atlanta's system. He has hit extremely well between Low-A Augusta and High-A Rome this season. The shortstop has a .258/.346/.474 slash line, 15 stolen bases, 16 doubles, 21 homers, and 61 RBI over 98 games.
He's an advanced college bat, so teams wouldn't have to wait too long for him to ascend the minor league ladder and make an impact. That's the attraction to Lodise, along with his impressive defensive acumen. The only downside with Lodise is that he struggles with strikeouts. He has 115 strikeouts to 43 walks this season. That will need to improve before he makes it to the big leagues.
John Gil
Gil isn't a prospect that was on many fans' radar before 2026. However, he caught some attention during spring training. He's had a decent season for High-A Rome, with 11 doubles, 11 homers, 43 stolen bases, 44 RBI, 55 walks, 92 strikeouts, and a .715 OPS.
His offense has been pretty much what is expected from him. However, his speed and defense are the biggest things that stand out in his game. Gil has a lot of speed and is a good base runner. That speed also helps him have excellent range at shortstop. Teams will definitely covet that, as it can be a game-changer.
