AL East

Baltimore Orioles – 1B Lewin Diaz (December 23, 2022)

Beginning here in the AL East, the division made a few recent trades with the Atlanta Braves this past December that will feature on this list, the first of which is the club acquiring Diaz, a first baseman, from the Baltimore Orioles on December 23. Diaz did not remain with the Braves long however as Atlanta would DFA the first baseman five days later on December 28.

Boston Red Sox – SS Hoy Park (December 16, 2022)

On to Boston, the most recent trade between the Braves and Red Sox was also during December as Atlanta acquired Park for a PTBNL. Similar to Diaz previously however, Park was DFA’d by the Braves back in late-December, but was recently out-righted to Triple-A Gwinnett.

New York Yankees – LHP Lucas Luegte (December 28, 2022)

As for the New York Yankees, this is a recent deal that was actually the final trade the Atlanta Braves made during the year, 2022. The Braves acquired Luetge, a left-handed relief pitcher, from New York only a few weeks ago back on December 28, and in exchange sent a pair of minor leaguers, RHP Indigo Diaz and SS Caleb Durbin, to the Yankees.

Tampa Bay Rays – C Dawson Dimon (June 6, 2022)

The first minor league move on this list comes from the Tampa Bay Rays, who traded Dimon, a catcher, to Atlanta back on June 6, 2022. Dimon recently spent the remainder of the 2022 season in the minor leagues of the Braves organization.

Toronto Blue Jays – 1B Leonel Callez (July 5, 2022)

The AL East concludes here with the Blue Jays, as well as a trade that took place nearly a month after the previously mentioned move with Tampa Bay. Also a minor league move, Atlanta acquired Callez from Toronto on July 5, 2022.

AL Central

Detroit Tigers – RHP Joe Jimenez (December 7, 2022)

The AL Central begins here with a recent move when the Braves acquired Jimenez, a veteran relief pitcher, as well as cash from the Detroit Tigers back on December 7. In return, Atlanta sent a pair of minor leaguers, 3B Justyn-Henry Malloy and LHP Jake Higginbotham, to the Tigers.

Chicago White Sox – OF Tyler Neslony (July 11, 2021)

Atlanta’s latest deal with the White Sox came back on July 11, 2021, with the Braves sending Neslony to Chicago. Neslony, a minor league outfielder, is still with the White Sox organization.

Cleveland Guardians – OF Eddie Rosario (July 30, 2021)

One of the more notable Atlanta Braves’ trades in recent years is this one with the then Cleveland Indians on July 30, 2021, as the club acquired Rosario and cash at the 2021 MLB trade deadline for Pablo Sandoval. Rosario is still with the Braves, with the veteran outfielder’s time in Atlanta being headlined by his 2021 postseason, one that included the NLCS MVP along the way to the Braves winning the World Series.

Kansas City Royals – Pick No. 35 in 2022 MLB Draft (July 11, 2022)

A unique trade compared to each of the other teams on this list, the Braves last trade with Kansas City came this past July in a deal in which Atlanta acquired the No. 35 overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft in exchange for three minor leaguers – OF Drew Waters, RHP Andrew Hoffmann, and 3B CJ Alexander. With the pick, the Braves would go on to select high school RHP JR Ritchie, who is currently Atlanta’s No. 3 overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline.

Minnesota Twins – OF Ryan LaMarre (September 8, 2019)

Concluding the AL Central is a move with the Twins, as Atlanta traded LaMarre to Minnesota back on September 8, 2019 for cash. LaMarre would go on to play in 14 games for the Twins during the 2019 season.

AL West

Houston Astros – RHP Jake Odorizzi (August 2, 2022)

We begin the AL West with the defending World Series champion Astros, as well as a one-for-one trade that was made back at the 2022 MLB trade deadline. The Braves received Odorizzi, a right-hander, for veteran reliever Will Smith, with neither player still with either team.

Los Angeles Angels – RHP Raisel Iglesias (August 2, 2022)

Another prominent trade at the 2022 MLB trade deadline also came with the Los Angeles Angels, where the Braves acquired Iglesias for a pair of pitchers – RHP Jesse Chavez and LHP Tucker Davidson. At the time of writing, Iglesias, as well as Chavez, are with Atlanta, while Davidson is still with the Angels.

Oakland Athletics – C Sean Murphy (December 12, 2022)

Arguably the most recent trade that made the biggest headlines for the Atlanta Braves came back on December 12, 2022 when the club acquired Murphy in a multi-team deal. In return, Oakland received four players from Atlanta – C Manny Pina, LHP Kyle Muller, RHP Freddy Tarnok, and RHP Royber Salinas – as well as 2B Esteury Ruiz from Milwaukee.

Seattle Mariners – RHP Anthony Swarzak (May 20, 2019)

The lone AL West trade that did not take place from 2022-now came with the Mariners back on May 20, 2019, with the Braves acquiring Swarzak and cash. In return, Seattle received a pair of relievers – RHP Arodys Vizcaino and LHP Jesse Biddle.

Texas Rangers – OF Eli White (January 3, 2023)

Concluding the AL West here with the Rangers, this is the most recent trade that the Atlanta Braves have made up to this point. Completed on January 3, 2023, the Braves acquired White from Texas for cash.

NL East

Miami Marlins – OF Adam Duvall (July 30, 2021)

Moving onto the NL East, the most recent trade between the Braves and Miami Marlins is also a memorable one from the 2021 MLB trade deadline in which Atlanta acquired Duvall on July 30. In return, Miami received catcher Alex Jackson, who would appear in only 42 games with the Marlins.

New York Mets – RHP Akeel Morris (June 8, 2016)

To find the most recent trade between the Braves and Mets, you have to go back to June 8, 2016 when Atlanta acquired Morris for 2B Kelly Johnson and cash. Morris would remain with the Braves for nearly two seasons, and was later traded to the Angels on April 3, 2018.

Philadelphia Phillies – C Johnny Estrada (December 20, 2002)

As for the Phillies, you have to go back over two decades on December 20, 2002 when the Braves acquired Estrada for RHP Kevin Millwood. Estrada, a catcher, would go on to play three seasons in Atlanta from 2003-05, which included his lone All-Star appearance in 2004.

Washington Nationals – SS Ehire Adrianza (August 1, 2022)

The NL East concludes here with a move from just last season with the Nationals at the 2022 MLB trade deadline, with Atlanta acquiring Adrianza. In return, Washington would receive minor leaguer Trey Harris.

NL Central

Chicago Cubs – RHP Jesse Chavez (April 21, 2022)

Beginning the NL Central is a deal with the Chicago Cubs back on April 21, 2022, in which the Braves acquired Chavez and cash. In exchange, the Cubs received LHP Sean Newcomb, whom the Braves had DFA’d a few days prior.

Cincinnati Reds – OF Scott Schebler (July 24, 2020)

The most recent trade between the Braves and Reds came a few years ago back in 2020, with Atlanta acquiring Schebler on July 24 of that year for cash. Schebler would go on to play in only one game for the Braves.

Milwaukee Brewers – C William Contreras (December 12, 2022)

As for the Brewers, Milwaukee was the other team involved in the previously mentioned Oakland trade that sent Sean Murphy to Atlanta, with the Braves sending Contreras and minor league RHP Justin Yeager to the club in the deal. If you were to look for the last two-team trade between the Braves and Brewers however instead, that last came on August 16, 2022, when Milwaukee sent 1B Tyler White to Atlanta for cash.

Pittsburgh Pirates – RHP Richard Rodriguez (July 30, 2021)

Yet another move from the aforementioned 2021 MLB trade deadline came with the Pirates, when the Braves acquired Rodriguez, a veteran reliever. In exchange, Pittsburgh received a pair of right-handers, Bryse Wilson and Ricky DeVito, with the latter as the lone name still with the organization.

St. Louis Cardinals – 1B Matt Adams (May 20, 2017)

Concluding the NL Central are the St. Louis Cardinals, whose most recent trade with the Braves came back on May 20, 2017 by sending Adams to Atlanta. In return, the Braves sent 1B Juan Yepez to St. Louis, who recently made his MLB debut with the Cardinals this past season.

Arizona Diamondbacks – RHP Jacob Webb (June 7, 2022)

The final division on this list, we conclude here with the NL West, which begins with Arizona trading Webb back to Atlanta back on June 7, 2022. At the time of the deal, Webb was DFA’d by the Diamondbacks a few days prior, and was traded back to the team he had previously played for.

Colorado Rockies – OF Sam Hilliard (November 6, 2022)

The final move so far this offseason to be included on this list is the trade with Colorado back on November 6, 2022, when the Braves acquired Hilliard. In return, the Rockies received minor league RHP Dylan Spain.

Los Angeles Dodgers – LHP Adam McCreery (November 28, 2018)

The most recent trade between the Braves and Dodgers last came on November 28, 2018, with Atlanta sending McCreery to Los Angeles for cash. McCreery was DFA’d by the Braves a few days prior at the time of the deal.

San Diego Padres – 2B Robinson Cano (July 10, 2022)

San Diego’s most recent trade with Atlanta came this past season when the Padres traded Cano, a veteran second baseman, to the Braves for cash on July 10. Cano would go on to play only nine games with Atlanta.

San Francisco Giants – RHP Tanner Andrews (December 8, 2021) 

The 29th, and final, MLB team on this list, the last trade between Atlanta and the San Francisco Giants came on December 8, 2021 when the Braves sent Andrews to the Bay Area. At the time of the deal, Atlanta had recently taken Andrews in the minor league portion of that year’s Rule 5 Draft.
