It was a quiet day for the Atlanta Braves on Thursday for the most part. However, what we did have is more interest being expressed in one Dansby Swanson which does not portend well for his return to the Atlanta Braves professional baseball club. This is particularly true in this current market because the Braves may be priced out on Dansby already.
It seems like each day another team is seriously interested in Swanson and yesterday was no different. The Red Sox have had their name thrown out there as a potential landing spot for Dansby for a while, but now we have actual reporting that Boston is considering Dansby now that Xander Bogaerts is officially heading to the west coast.

Yesterday, we began our Atlanta Braves prospect rankings here at Tomahawk Take which will be rolling out over the next week or so. While the first installment of the top 30 went up earlier this morning, we got things started on Thursday with the honorable mentions that just missed the cut including a couple of members of the Braves’ most recent draft class.

Things were quiet in the world of the Braves, but one of the best free agents on the market found himself a new team yesterday. Carlos Rodon has long been one of the best starting pitchers on the market this offseason, but he had been holding out for a six or seven year deal with an AAV in the neighborhood of $30 million a year. While he didn’t quite get that much per year, he was able to ink a deal with the Yankees for six years and $162 million.
We also had a couple of smaller move with the Mets signing catcher Omar Narvaez to a one year deal despite the fact that they are already seemingly pretty crowded at catcher. The Orioles also added some versatility to their roster as they nabbed Adam Frazier on a one year deal as well.
