The Atlanta Braves have yet to make a significant free agent signing this offseason, but that doesn’t mean that we didn’t get at least a small Dansby update yesterday. According to Jon Heyman, the Dodgers are considering Swanson as a possibility at shortstop. Heyman did also mention the the Braves, calling them “stealthy or quiet” in regards to Dansby which is another way of saying that Heyman has no idea where the Braves are in the negotiations at the moment.

Elsewhere on the site, our season review series continued on with Eddie Rosario. A very unfortunate eye injury cost him a bunch of time at the beginning of the season and upon returning, his play raised more questions than answers when it comes to the left field spot on the Braves roster going forward.

MLB News

We didn’t have a lot of action on Sunday across the league, although we did get one signing at the very least. Sean Manaea did not have a good 2022 season with the Padres, but that did not seem to deter the San Francisco Giants too much as they signed Manaea to a two year, $25 million deal. Not exactly the marquee free agent signing that the Giants were hoping to make this offseason, but it does give San Francisco another rotation option that can pitch out of the bullpen if that doesn’t work out.

Speaking of the Padres, they still seem like they are going to remain busy this offseason. The current rumor is that they are interested in going after another former Red Sox player as catcher Christian Vasquez is on their radar.

Finally, we have an update on the Carlos Rodon sweepstakes…well, sort of. Apparently there is a mystery team interested in Rodon and according Heyman again, he believes that team is the Cardinals. All of the usual Jon Heyman caveats apply here.
