The offseason is officially upon us with the end of the World Series and we are going to have a lot of Atlanta Braves content for you here to help you navigate the offseason. There is also a better than average chance that at least one of us will write something that you will adamantly disagree with to the point that you say mean things about us on the internets. That’s okay, too.
To get you started, we previously wrote some general thoughts about what the Braves could do this offseason. While the Braves don’t have a ton of holes to fill on their roster, they are going to be dealing with at least one particularly expensive part of the market (that, of course, being at shortstop) which will certainly keep our attention for a while.
Braves officials have been very clear that they expect the team’s payroll to continue to go up, but our own Fred Owens opined that that doesn’t mean that they have a bottomless pit of money to spend especially when you look at the 2023 payroll.
Finally, earlier today we took a look at some key dates that all Braves fans need to know going into the offseason. From how free agency is going to work to Rule 5 protection and other roster rules, we have you covered. A link to that is at the bottom of this article.

It was a relatively light day yesterday, but we did continue our series where we are running down the seasons of the Atlanta Braves on the active roster. Yesterday, we highlighted Jesse Chavez whose ability to shove on the mound (but only in a Braves uniform) as well as his fashion sense has endeared himself to Braves fans during his multiple stints with the team.

After an off day on Friday, the World Series between the Astros and Phillies got back underway with Game Six in Houston. Zack Wheeler was on the mound for the Phillies and Framber Valdez got the start for the Astros.
Both of Wheeler and Valdez were tough through the first five innings and while Valdez ended up giving up the game’s first run, it was Houston that would breakthrough as a huge three-run homer from Yordan Alvarez in the bottom of the sixth inning gave the Astros the lead.
The Houston bullpen would take it from there and closed the rest of the game without incident, clinching the World Series title for the Astros in six games. The offseason has officially begun.
