Of the trades made by the Atlanta Braves across the last calendar year, which moves ended up being among the most impactful?

About a year ago, I took a look at each of the trades made by the Atlanta Braves during the 2021 season, which included deals made by the club from November 2020 through September 2021 (that post can be found here). A group of trades that included multiple key moves from general manager Alex Anthopoulos, why not do the same for this season?

So, without factoring in waiver claims, let’s revisit each of the 16 trades made by the Braves from November of 2021 to September of 2022, as well as how each looks now. (NOTE: Stats as of Friday, September 23)

Revisiting the Atlanta Braves trades from the 2022 season

November

Atlanta Braves acquire RHP Jay Jackson from the San Francisco Giants for a PTBNL

Atlanta’s first trade of the 2022 season came back last November 22nd when the club acquired Jackson, a right-handed reliever, from the Giants. Jackson has made only two scoreless relief appearances with the Braves in the major leagues this season, but does also own an impressive 1.83 ERA with a 21:3 K:BB ratio in the minors.

December

Atlanta Braves trade RHP Tanner Andrews to the San Francisco Giants

The Braves’ lone trade during December came on the eighth when Atlanta traded Andrews, a right-hander, to San Francisco.

Andrews would never play a game in the Braves organization as Atlanta selected the right-hander in the fourth round of the 2021 minor league Rule 5 Draft, with the 26-year-old traded shortly after to the Giants where he posted a combined 0.92 ERA across 19.2 IP in the minor leagues this season.
