5 Atlanta Braves prospects whose stock has risen during 2022 season
Jared Shuster
The Braves first round pick from the 2020 MLB Draft, Shuster has enjoyed a career-year between the Double-A and Triple-A levels, currently holding a combined 3.02 ERA with a 123:30 K:BB across 116.1 IP. Currently sitting at No. 3 in Atlanta’s system, the southpaw could very well be in the conversation for the Braves top prospect entering 2023, a year in which Shuster should make his MLB debut.
Justyn Henry-Malloy
There are two notable names from Atlanta’s 2021 draft class whose stock has risen this season, the first of which is Henry-Malloy, the Braves sixth rounder from that draft and current No. 13 prospect. Combined between the High-A and Double-A levels, Henry-Malloy has slashed a combined .298/.406/.463 with 13 HR and 64 RBI across 103 games, and could be knocking on the door of the Top 10 in Atlanta’s system entering next season.
Dylan Dodd
The second of those two names from the Braves 2021 draft class, Dodd has also had a strong season between High-A and Double-A. A former third round pick, the left-hander currently owns a combined 3.53 ERA across 114.2 IP with a 120:25 K:BB, and should be among Atlanta’s Top 15 prospects at some point in 2023 (currently No. 18).
Darius Vines
Vines, the Braves No. 17 prospect, was one of the biggest risers in Atlanta’s system a year ago, and has only continued that rise in 2022. The right-hander has posted a combined 3.88 ERA with a 134:33 K:BB across 116 IP between the Double-A and Triple-A levels this season, and could be a name to watch for when it comes to an MLB debut in 2023.
Royber Salinas
A former international signing by the Braves back in 2018, Salinas has risen to Atlanta’s current No. 21 prospect in what is the largest single-season sample size of his professional career. The 21-year-old right-hander currently owns a 3.75 ERA between Low-A and High-A with a 156:55 K:BB across 96 IP, and is quickly emerging as one of the best swing-and-miss arms in Atlanta’s system.
