It was an exciting day for Michael Harris II as he picked up his first big league hit, but the Atlanta Braves were stifled by Sandy Alcantara again.

It’s alway exciting when a top young prospect makes his debut. Not many thought that day would come this early for Michael Harris, but the Atlanta Braves took a shot on him looking for a spark.

Unfortunately, he was the only spark for the Braves offense on Saturday.

Sandy Alcantara continues to dominate the Braves lineup – and pretty much every other lineup.

After throwing a complete game the lat time Alcantara faced the Braves, this time he lasted only 8 innings striking out 14.

Tucker Davidson had a nice bounce-back outing and kept Atlanta in the game, but Alcantara proved to be too much.

The highlight of the game for the Braves came in the sixth inning when Michael Harris laced a single the other way — his first hit as a big leaguer.

Ronald Acuna Jr. would follow him up with a single and then a stolen base. And then Dansby Swanson brought Harris home on an RBI groundout.

Those three combined for four of the team’s 5 hits on Saturday.

Also of note in this game, Acuna took a 97 MPH sinker off his hand — looked like it might have glanced off the elbow pad first.

He would sty in the game and later get the hit mentioned above, so that’s great news.

The bullpen allowed the Marlins to add-on late making any kind of comeback difficult and the Braves lost 4-1 putting a damper on Harris’ big day.

It will be exciting to see what kind of spark and energy he brings to this team. He also looked really smooth defensively and made a couple of nice running catches.

They’ll be back at it on Sunday against the Marlins with a chance to take the series. Max Fried will be on the mound Elieser Hernandez.
