3. Signings Most-Likely to Happen

The final category contains three pitchers as well, each of which you could certainly make an excellent case that a signing makes sense and could happen at some point this offseason.

Carlos Rodon

A potential option you could certainly make an argument that actually could happen is the Braves signing Rodon, one of the more-intriguing starters available this offseason.

Coming off a career-year, the left-hander posted a 2.37 ERA with the White Sox last season, but did not receive a QO from Chicago at seasons end. While the injury history could be a concern for the 28-year-old, a one-to-two year deal makes sense for Rodon, and is a move that the Braves should consider.

Corey Kluber

When Cleveland was set to trade Kluber a few years back, the Braves were a team that was mentioned as a potential landing spot before the right-hander was traded to Texas – could Kluber finally land in Atlanta this offseason?

After pitching only one inning in 2020, Kluber posted a strong season in 2021 with the Yankees that included a 3.83 ERA across 16 starts before suffering a shoulder injury. While there are injury concerns for the two-time Cy Young winner, signing the veteran right-hander to one-year deal similar to around what he pitched on in New York this past season (1-year, $11 million) is a possibility this offseason.

Danny Duffy

Another potential veteran starter that could be an option for the Braves this offseason is Duffy.

Traded to the Dodgers at last seasons deadline, Duffy never appeared in a game with Los Angeles (injury), but did post a phenomenal 2.51 ERA with Kansas City across 13 starts earlier last season. While the 32-year-old is coming off an injury, Duffy would be another intriguing veteran option to bring in on a one-year deal, likely for around the same amount as Kluber previously.

When looking at the Atlanta Braves offseason moves, adding at-least one veteran starter makes sense. Will that move come from one of the top names such as Scherzer, Kershaw, or Verlander, or will the Atlanta Braves add a starter such as Rodon, Stroman, Kluber, or Duffy on a potential one-year deal?
