3. Jorge Soler’s go-ahead homer in Game 4
This to me was the biggest moment of the entire series — it’s where everything changed. And you can include the Dansby Swanson game-tying home run in here.
But Soler came off the bench in Game 4 and delivered a crushing blow to the Houston Astros.
And when I think of this moment I’ll have that image of the ball flying just over Yordan Alverez’s glove and Dansby’s reaction in the dugout. What an incredible moment that completed changed the trajectory of this World Series.
2. Max Fried’s Dominance in Game 6
Obviously, when you win a World Series some of your fondest memories will come from the clinching game.
The one that will always stick out in my mind is Fried getting stepped on and then getting out of that first-inning jam.
You don’t normally get a ton of emotion on the mound from Fried, but when he walked off the mound after punching out Gurriel on three straight fastballs at 97, 97, and 98 you pretty much knew it was over.
1. Jorge Soler’s Majestic Blast in Game 6
And even though we knew Max was going to be in control on the mound, the offense had to score at least one run for him. Jorge Soler did that and more in the third inning with this home run that still hasn’t landed.
I mean, that is the image of this World Series for the Braves. Three big home runs from Jorge Soler, the last of which is one you’ll see on highlight reels for a long time.
Again, I know there are probably some big moments I’m missing — some little ones as well.
But these are the ones that stick out to me the most and the ones I’ll look back to when reliving this World Series championship.
