We look back at the six biggest plays that led to the Atlanta Braves winning the 2021 World Series and taking home the crown.
What an amazing ride it was for the Atlanta Braves with so many special moments. It’s hard to really pick any one specific moment in the season, in the postseason, or in the World Series.
And there are so many little moments that can lead up to the big moments. Decisions that were made, at-bats extended.
For example, in the second inning of Game 3, you had a seemingly innocent two-out double by Travis d’Arnaud. The Astros intentionally walk Dansby Swanson and get Ian Anderson out to end the inning.
Seems harmless, right?
But that led to Eddie Rosario leading off the third inning with a walk and ultimately scoring the first run of the game in a 2-0 win.
There’s so many little moments that go into winning a World Series, but when we look back at the 2021 World Series for the Atlanta Braves, I think these are the moments that will stick out to us the most.
6. Jorge Soler’s home run to start to the World Series
I mean, what better way to get the World Series started than with a home run from your leadoff hitter. It was the first time it had ever been done in a World Series where the leadoff hitter hits a home run to start Game 1.
This would end up just being the beginning of an amazing series for Jorge Soler. He really set the tone from the beginning that this Braves team wasn’t messing around.
