Pitchers -turned-announcers like to tell us that if you’re willing to throw a certain pitch at 2-2, then you oughta be willing at 3-2 also.  That’s the Atlanta Braves situation tonight.

There are a maximum of two games remaining in the National League’s championship series matchup against the Dodgers and our Atlanta Braves still hold a 3-games-to-2 lead on the defending champs.

The Dodgers continue to receive bad news as they have lost slugger Max Muncy, third baseman Justin Turner, and now starter Max Scherzer to fatigue (told y’all that looked tough for him) over the past couple of weeks.

That’s unfortunate for them, but the Atlanta Braves now need to finish this off and consider sending a sympathy card after they beat the Astros in the World Series.

They’ve had one shot already, of course, and that didn’t go well as Max Fried had an uncharacteristically difficult outing on Thursday.

But today is another day and the pressure should still be squarely on the Dodgers — especially now that 41,000+ Braves fans will be rocking the home house tonight in support of their team.

So the stakes and the mission are both clear, and the time is right.  This club has outplayed the Dodgers in most games thus far… one more effort like that will bring home a pennant for the first time since 1999.

So this is our preview edition of these games… which admittedly was somewhat overcome by events with the Scherzer news.  Nonetheless, we’ve cobbled things together and think that we should still have something worth your effort to listen.

As usual, here’s the means to that ends:

In any case… give a listen:  heck you’re not even gonna have to miss the Georgia game this afternoon (since there isn’t one this week!).

Go Braves!
