The series heads to Los Angeles for Game 3 of the NLCS where the Atlanta Braves hold a two games to none lead over the Dodgers.

After two drama-filled games in Atlanta, the Braves will try to carry that momentum out West where they haven’t had much success in recent years.

Hopefully things will be different this time around and they can put the Dodgers to bed and finally get over that hump.

Braves Starting Pitcher Today: Charlie Morton

The Braves couldn’t ask for a better starter to be on the mound at Dodger Stadium for Game 3 looking to take a commanding 3-0 lead in the series.

Morton will not be intimidated by the moment and has pitched in this stadium in the World Series.

He was really good when he pitched here back in August allowing just 1 earned run on 3 hits and 2 walks over 6 innings with 8 strikeouts in 106 pitches.

Back in June he allowed 4 runs (2 earned) on 4 hits and 1 walk over 5 innings with 5 strikeouts on 94 pitches.

Morton also faced the Dodgers in the World Series last year and was not great giving up 5 earned runs on 7 hits and 1 walk over just 4.1 innings with 6 strikeouts in 91 pitches.

Dodgers hitters vs. Morton:

Mookie Betts: 7/24, 2 2B, 1 HR, 4 BB, 1 K

Trea Turner: 1/9, 5 Ks

Justin Turner: 4/10, 1 2B, 1 BB, 1 K

AJ Pollock: 0/11, 1 BB, 2 Ks

Braves Starting Lineup

Braves vs. Dodgers Prediction Today

In his lone start against the Braves this year, Walker Buehler allowed 2 earned runs on 4 hits and 2 walks over 7 innings with 5 strikeouts. That’s exactly the kind of start LA needs from him today after burning through their bullpen in games one and two.

Last postseason he started against the Braves twice and allowed a total of 1 earned run over 11 innings with 13 strikeouts.

This might be the best pitching matchup of the series and I expect it to be a tight game when both starters leave.

Then it comes down to the bullpen and I’m just concerned with how the Braves guys hold up in Dodger Stadium where they took a couple of losses just a little over a month ago.

It also really scares me that the Dodgers have the last at-bat in what I think will be a close game.

That’s why I’m going with the Dodgers in this one by a score of 4-3.
