The injury bug strikes the Atlanta Braves once again as Marcel Ozuna is expected to miss six weeks.

Injuries have been rampant all over Major League Baseball this year and the Atlanta Braves have been no exception.

This time, Atlanta will be losing Marcell Ozuna after he left Tuesday’s win over the Red Sox with an apparent finger injury after sliding headfirst into third base.

Ozuna headed back to Atlanta where he was evaluated for the severity of the injury.

Marcell himself posted on Instagram that he would be missing at least six weeks with a dislocation of his ring and middle finger.

Marcell wrote: “Thanks to everyone who took a minute of their time to worry about me. I’m fine because God wanted it that way, thank God nothing more serious happened, now wait 6 weeks to recover. Thank you all.”

I think most of us knew it was pretty serious right after it occurred. Ron Washington immediately asked for assistance from the dugout.

Ozuna walked off the field immediately and a replay on the broadcast showed that something just wasn’t right with his hand.

This is a tough break for Atlanta despite Ozuna’s struggles at the plate. His presence in the lineup is important.

Luckily for Atlanta, Austin Riley has seemingly come into his own and can easily slide in the cleanup spot for the Braves and likely provide a bit more production until Ozuna is healthy.

Guillermo Heredia has also been a nice pick-up for Atlanta so far and we all know the potential Ender Inciarte has if he is healthy and seeing the ball well at the plate.
